MEET THE OWNER

Hi, my name is Jon Runion.

I’ve been dreaming about making Necessity Coffee for a long time! I want to make it a special experience for everyone who comes across it.

It’s my hope that when you enjoy a cup of coffee from Necessity you are excited about what you’re drinking and that it leaves you with a memorable experience.

I love connecting and meeting people, while working and building connections with one another.

The best part about being a coffee shop in San Diego is you can drink coldbrew year-round! We have a delicious single origin from Huila, Colombia and reminds us of rich dark chocolate, demerara sugar, and citrus! Swing by and grab one!!
THE JOHN DALY - We start this drink by making an olio sacrum with our lemons. We squeeze those lemons and add them to a steeped GAO WEN black tea from our friends over at @hugoteaco . Once everything has combined, we take all of the liquid and clarif
